The Rev. Kathryn L. King Presides at First Weekend Services

The Rev. Kathryn L. King presided over her first services as the new rector of All Saints Church on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 5:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 21, at 8 and 10:15 a.m.

At 10:15, all were treated to a lovely service celebrating Christ the King Sunday with special music from members of our choir and clarinet accompaniment by Curt Morton. The prelude was a duet performed on organ and piano, by Stephen Pinel and Richard Ludlum, respectively.

As the church year is coming to a close, this service marked the appearance of several firsts for All Saints: our first Sunday in quite a few years with more than 100 people at 10:15 service; our first Eucharist with the Rev. King, who is our first female rector; our first baptism at 10:15 a.m. service in more than two years, and the first birthday of the baptismal candidate Luke Matthew Lawson (shown at left). As a gesture of our commitment to support Luke, the Rev. King asked parishioners to bring water to add to the baptismal font and sign the mat that framed Luke's baptismal certificate.

All Saints also marked its first livestreamed service with the new Mevo cameras. We will continue livestreaming the 10:15 Eucharist on our Facebook page and allowing our parish family and friends who cannot be with us in person to join Coffee Hour via Zoom.
