Bay Head Christmas Walk

The first Friday in December, All Saints hosts the community during the Bay Head Christmas Walk, featuring treats, hot chocolate, and activities. Every other year, we offer a museum-quality display, which we have on loan from the St. Nicholas Center at the Virginia Theological Seminary.

Our annual outdoor tree-lighting takes place on the Wednesday before the Christmas Walk.  To add to the joyful atmosphere, we also decorate the footbridge.

Making mitres

Nicholas King, the rector's son, helps young visitors make a mitre like the one Nicholas, the Bishop of Myra, wore. Panels with facts about the life of St. Nicholas are displayed on the walls of Bristol Hall.

Hands-on fun

Popular among our visitors are making lanterns or mitres, solving puzzles, and doing rubbings from plates about St. Nicholas--then grabbing a treat!

A visit from the Bishop of Myra

The Bishop of Myra, Nicholas, patron saint of children and mariners, makes an appearance during 10:15 service on the Sunday closest to his feast day, giving gifts of chocolate to all present!
