Newcomers Ministry

A Vestry member is generally responsible for coordinating this ministry, but every member of the parish accepts responsibility for showing all our visitors just what a genuinely loving community of faithful people we are. It is our goal as newcomer greeters to ensure that each new member feels a part of our church family. On Sundays, our greeters take time to welcome visitors, to learn what brings them to All Saints, and to invite them to Hospitality Hour following the service. Greeters extend a "helping hand," enabling newcomers to meet parishioners and the rector (and helping the rector remember visitors' names). At other times, the Vestry member works hard with others in the parish to help newcomers "move into their new home." We have held special brunches and informal suppers that pair new members with existing ones so that everyone can get to know one another personally, have questions answered, and enjoy a developing sense of fellowship.
