Music Program
The marriage of music and liturgy at All Saints dates back at least five decades. Inspired by the late Dr. Lee Hastings Bristol, Jr., then President of the Westminster Choir College, All Saints developed a small but magnificent music program that thrives to this day. In 1973, Lee Bristol was "instrumental" in our obtaining the 2-manual, 13-stop, Casavant Tracker organ that we still enjoy today. Our organist and choir director, Richard Ludlum, leads a choir that includes as many as 25 voices. Our musical repertoire is diverse -- ranging from Gospel and "old-time" hymns to selections from Verdi, Handel, and modern masters. Music, which is an integral part of 10:15 a.m. services, often features guest soloists on trumpet, harp, flute, guitar, or violin.
In addition, All Saints supports music in the community. Monday nights our church serves as a rehearsal hall for the New Jersey Chamber Singers. We have hosted a popular Messiah Sing-Along that featured a small orchestra composed of professional musicians from New Jersey and Manhattan. We have also sponsored concerts by vocal ensembles, classical musicians, and jazz combos in the past.
